I am a self professed "nerd" with an endless interest and passion for learning about how the mind and brain work, and more importantly, how to use this learning to foster improved relationships with ourselves and others so that we can live a more harmonious and peaceful life. RESTORING WATERS COUNSELING BIO Restoring Waters Counseling is owned by Charlene Colwell, MSW, LICSW who has 15 years of experience providing mental health services. Charlene obtained a Masters in Clinical Social Work from the University of St. Thomas/St. Catherine University, and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the State of Minnesota. ISSUES I SPECIALIZE IN WORKING WITH -OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder) -Anxiety Disorders -I provide Individual therapy for Adults 18 and older ISSUES AND CONCERNS THAT I DON'T WORK WITH There are certain life circumstances and mental health concerns that I do not have a specialized skill set for to provide the most effective treatment therefore, I do not take new clients who are experiencing or in need of the following: - currently on a civil commitment - couples therapy - family therapy - therapy for anyone under the age of 18. - currently involved in an open Child Protection Case. - currently in a custody battle or anticipate one. - court ordered for therapy. - is involved with any criminal/court issues. - currently experiencing domestic abuse in their relationship. If any of these situations are part of your experience, I would recommend finding someone who specializes in these areas so you can receive the most effective care for what you are experiencing.
